This is particularly important as the 'logical' route from Denver to Seattle through Yellowstone National Park has you entering from the south, from Grand Tetons National Park. There are lots of other possibility's depending on how you want to spend your time, Rocky mountain NP is a short way from Denver and the Tetons from Yellowstone which are both amazing places.
